On November 6, 2024, TPMA marked a milestone with a spectacular 35th Anniversary Gala at the Indiana State Museum. The evening celebrated the firm’s legacy of excellence and the remarkable career of its founder, Tom Miller, who officially retired this year.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, Tom Miller was presented with the prestigious Sagamore of the Wabash Award, one of Indiana’s highest honors.
The award, bestowed by the Governor of Indiana, recognizes individuals who have made a significant impact on their communities, state, and beyond. For 35 years, Tom Miller’s vision and leadership have driven transformative economic and workforce development initiatives across Indiana and the nation.
“Receiving the Sagamore of the Wabash is a tremendous honor,” says Tom Miller. “This recognition is a testament not only to my journey but also to the incredible team at TPMA and the many partners who have shared in this work. Together, we’ve made a lasting impact, and I am deeply grateful.”
The gala, attended by over 150 guests, was an evening of heartfelt tributes, community spirit, and forward-looking optimism. Distinguished attendees included leaders from government, business, nonprofit organizations, and TPMA’s many partners. The program highlighted Tom Miller’s far-reaching influence, celebrated TPMA’s legacy of innovation, and envisioned the firm’s promising future.
“To know Tom Miller is to know a community builder … Tom has operated around his potential to impact communities, their workforce and their economies for his entire adult life” said TPMA’s CEO & Managing Partner Mark Gramelspacher.
The evening featured a retrospective on TPMA’s 35 years of achievements, a special video tribute to Tom Miller, and the symbolic passing of the torch to the next generation of leadership. Guests enjoyed an elegant dinner, heartfelt testimonials, and an opportunity to connect with the people and partnerships that have defined TPMA’s success.
The Sagamore of the Wabash Award presentation was the highlight of the evening, with Tom’s son Tim Miller and TPMA board members delivering remarks on Tom’s extraordinary contributions.
