Last year we absorbed the sobering news that more than 22 million people in the United States were suddenly without a job and we immediately sprang into action—recognizing that workforce development, education and economic development collective work is needed now more than ever. TPMA engaged with Indiana state leaders in workforce, education, and economic development to create a COVID-19 Rapid Recovery Plan that is currently being utilized. The implementation of the plan, in addressing both the challenges and opportunities brought about by the pandemic, has created an inflection point for the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) to re-evaluate its staff structure to maximize the impact for customers of the system. It has also underlined a need for additional assistance in project managing activities associated with implementation of initiatives resulting from the Rapid Recovery Plan.
